We are based in Bikaner, specifically in the Naya Sahar area. It’s a local operation where we act as advisors for Birla Sunlife Insurance. Bikaner is the kind of place where people really know each other, so we see a lot of familiar faces every single day. Our office isn't some big glass building like you might see in the big cities, just a simple room with enough space where we can sit down and talk with people. We spend a lot of our time explaining how the different insurance plans work and what they mean for a family. Sometimes it takes a while to go through all the fine print and the details, but we don't mind taking the extra time. We usually have a lot of tea while we work through the papers. The Naya Sahar streets can be quite narrow and crowded with bikes and cows, but that’s just the charm of living here. We aren't sales people with loud voices or flashy suits, we just sit down and show people what their actual options are. We've lived in Bikaner for most of our lives, so we really understand what the local families are looking for and what they need. Most of our work comes from simple word of mouth. Someone tells a neighbor that we helped them, and then that neighbor shows up at our door the next week. We keep a desk with a few pens and plenty of blank paper for notes. It gets very hot here in the summer months, so we have a ceiling fan that runs all day long to keep us cool. We handle the applications and make sure every signature is in the right place so there are no problems later. It’s not a complicated life we lead here.
