Vsl India Pvt.Ltd. is based in the R.A. Building on R.L. Road in Egmore. We are on the first floor, which is convenient since we don't have to wait for an elevator that might be broken. Egmore is an old part of the city, and our building definitely shows its age, but it has some character. The walls are thick and the ceilings are high. We do specialized engineering work, mostly related to post-tensioning and structural stuff. It’s a lot of technical drawings and looking at site photos. We have a small office staff and then a lot of people out at different construction sites around the region. The office is usually cluttered with blueprints and rolls of paper. We don't have a receptionist in a suit; usually, you just walk in and find whoever is at their desk. The tea stall downstairs is where we get our morning fix. It’s a busy neighborhood with a lot of history. Sometimes the traffic on R.L. Road is so bad you can barely cross the street, but we’re used to it. We’ve been at 18/3 for a long time. We don't do much in the way of fancy marketing. Our work is mostly with contractors and developers who already know where to find us. It’s a straightforward operation. We come in, we do the calculations, we check the site reports, and we head home. We just get the job done.
