Gopal Brick Industries

Gopal Brick Industries is sitting right in Village Hirsa, on the Bihar Road. If you are looking for us, we are very close to the Shiv Mandir. You can hear the bells from the temple every morning and evening while we are working. It’s a nice sound to have in the background. Our yard is usually a hive of activity with workers moving bricks and tractors coming in to pick up loads. The Bihar Road is always busy with buses and trucks, so there is plenty of dust and noise. We’ve been here for years and the locals know us well. We don’t use any complicated systems. Most of our records are kept in big ledger books on a wooden desk. The office is small and smells a bit like the earth outside. During the monsoon season, we have to cover everything up with plastic sheets and wait for the ground to dry out. It’s a bit of a struggle then, but that’s the nature of the brick business. We have a few dogs that hang around the site and keep us company. They mostly just sleep in the shade when it is hot. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around, just a steady one that provides for the families who work here. People stop by for water or a chat on their way to the temple. It’s a friendly place to spend the day.
