Somasingh Chavan

Out here in Chowkithanda, things move at a certain pace. I’ve been working under my name, Somasingh Chavan, for a good while now. It’s mostly about getting the daily tasks done and making sure everything is in order before the sun goes down. Most people around here know where to find me. It’s not a big office with a sign or anything. Just the place where I handle my business and keep my tools. Some days are busy with folks coming by to ask about this or that. Other days, I’m out and about, handling things on the move. Living and working in the same area means you never really stop. There’s always a fence to fix or some paperwork that needs looking at. My neighbors sometimes drop by for a chat while I’m working. It’s just how we do things here. I don’t use a lot of big machines, just what’s necessary to get the job finished. You learn to fix things yourself when they break. It’s simpler that way. The road into Chowkithanda can be a bit rough after the monsoon, but we’re used to it. I’ve lived here a long time, so I know every corner. I just try to keep things steady and do a decent day's work. It's not complicated, and I prefer it that way. No big plans, just keeping the rhythm going and making sure the people who count on me aren't disappointed. It's a quiet life mostly, and that suits me just fine for now.
