St Thomas School

People usually find us easily enough on Mes Road, just past the turn at Survey No 377/1. We’ve been here in Madhapar for a while now, looking after the school buildings on Plot No 4 and 5. It’s a busy spot in Bhuj, especially when the morning starts and the parents are dropping their kids off. The sun gets pretty hot out here, but we have some shade in the yard where the students hang out during their breaks. It is a plain school, nothing too fancy, just classrooms and desks and the usual noise you expect when a couple hundred kids are in one place. We spend a lot of our time making sure the registers are done and the teachers have what they need for the lessons. Sometimes the dust from the road blows in, so we are always cleaning the windows and the floors. It’s a lot of work keeping up with everything, but it’s what we do every day. In the afternoons, the place gets quiet once the last bus leaves. You can hear the birds then. We stay back a bit to tidy up and get things ready for the next morning. It’s just a regular part of life here in this corner of Gujarat. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles, just a solid building and people who show up to do their jobs.
