Vandana Carpets

Vandana Carpets is our shop on Janpath in Kharvel Nagar, Bhubaneshwar. We are right in front of the Giridurga Temple. It’s a good spot to be, and the temple is a nice view when we step outside. We sell all kinds of carpets and rugs. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, moving rolls around so people can see the patterns. We don't have a big sales pitch. We just let people walk around and look at what we have. Sometimes the shop gets a bit dusty from the fibers, but that’s expected. We’ve been here in Bhubaneshwar for a good while now. We know which styles people like and which ones just sit on the shelf. It’s not a fancy business, just us selling floor coverings to our neighbors. We try to keep a decent variety in stock. Some days it’s quiet and we just sit and drink tea, and other days we’re busy helping several families at once. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Odisha. We just want to provide something useful for people's homes. The traffic on Janpath can be loud, but we’ve grown used to it over the years. We just keep things simple and honest. If a carpet has a small flaw, we point it out. It’s just how we do things here. We like being part of Kharvel Nagar and seeing familiar faces return.
