Ikat Exports Pvt Ltd

Our office is over at Mehers Building, Number 1, Janpath. Being on Janpath is interesting because there’s always a lot of foot traffic and history around us. Ikat Exports Pvt Ltd has been operating from this spot for quite some time. We focus on textiles, specifically the ikat style that we really like. It’s a lot of work looking at different fabrics and making sure the dyes are right. We aren’t some big, polished corporation with a PR team. It’s just us in here, surrounded by samples and swatch books. Sometimes the office gets a bit dusty from all the fabric, but we don’t mind much. We spend a lot of our time talking to weavers and then trying to find buyers who appreciate the work. It’s a lot of back-and-forth. Janpath is a great place to be, even if parking is a total nightmare. We usually just take the bus or walk. We don't really do flashy marketing. Most of our work comes from people who know us or have heard about us from someone else. It feels more personal that way. We just try to be fair and do what we say we’re going to do. Some days the phones don't stop ringing and other days we can actually sit down and have a proper lunch. It’s a good balance for us.
