Samals Physics

At A 145 in Sahid Nagar, you’ll find Samals Physics. It’s a busy part of Bhubaneshwar, and there is always something going on outside our door. This is basically just a place where we talk about physics all day long. I started this because I noticed how much students struggle with the basic concepts once they get to the higher classes. The rooms aren't very large, but we’ve squeezed in enough benches for everyone to sit. We have a lot of chalk dust everywhere because I still prefer the old blackboards over the new digital stuff. It feels more real that way. Sahid Nagar is a good location, though it gets crowded in the evenings when everyone is out and about. We usually have classes running back-to-back, so there is a lot of shuffling in and out. The walls are thin, so you can hear the tea stall guy outside clinking his glasses sometimes. It isn't a corporate office by any means. There are stacks of old test papers in the corners and the clock on the wall ticks a bit too loudly when it’s quiet. We just focus on the problems in the textbooks. Most of the kids come here after their regular school hours, so they are usually tired, but we try to keep them focused on the diagrams and the math until it clicks.
