Our place is over on Venus Inn Street for a good while now. It’s a busy part of Kharavela Nagar. People are always walking by, looking in the windows. We make furniture, mostly stuff for homes around Janpath. It’s not the kind of place where everything is perfect and shiny. There is usually some sawdust on the floor and the smell of wood polish in the air. We have a few guys who have been with us for years. They know their way around a lathe. We don't use big fancy machines for everything; a lot is still done by hand because that’s how we learned. Sometimes we get behind on orders when the wood delivery is late. It happens. We try to keep things honest. If a chair isn't right, we fix it. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Just us in the workshop making tables and beds. It's a lot of heavy lifting. My back hurts most evenings, but seeing a finished piece go out the door feels good. We like being part of the community in Bapuji Nagar. It feels like home. We aren't trying to change the world, just making sure people have a decent place to sit and eat their dinner. It’s a simple life, and we like it that way. No fuss, just wood and nails and a bit of hard work every day.
