Unionics

At Unionics, we are located over at 69/1532 in Acharya Vihar. It’s a bit of a quiet area compared to the main roads, but we stay busy with the work that comes in. The shop is filled with various parts and tools we use daily. It’s not the most organized place in the world, as there’s usually something being fixed on the main table. We spend most of our hours looking at circuits or dealing with technical stuff that people bring us. Most of the time, the radio is playing in the background while we work. It’s just a few of us here. We don’t have a big front office or a receptionist. If the bell rings, one of us just gets up from the bench to see who it is. Acharya Vihar has changed a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed in this same spot. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open. We don't do a lot of talking about ourselves; we just focus on the tasks at hand. People usually find us through word of mouth or because they live nearby. The shelves are pretty high and they’re full of old boxes we’ve kept just in case we need a spare part. It’s a practical way to run things. We keep going until the work is done for the evening. Sometimes we stay and talk after the lights are off and the shop is finally quiet.
