If you know where Aman Sweets is in Bishan Swarup Colony, then you’ve probably walked right past us. True Make Engineers is just tucked away near there. It’s a working shop, so it’s usually got that smell of cut metal and grease that you expect from an engineering place. We spend most of our time at the benches or working the lathes. This isn't a clean place, but it’s where the work gets done. I’ve been working in this trade for a long time, and being here in the colony feels right. The morning usually starts with a bit of cleaning up from the day before, then we get straight into whatever orders are on the list. Big teams aren't our thing; it's just a few of us who know how to handle the tools. Sometimes we get tricky jobs that make us scratch our heads for a bit, but we usually figure it out eventually. The light in the shop isn't always the best, so we use those moveable lamps to see what we’re doing. It’s a bit cramped when we have a lot of materials delivered, but we manage. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop around, just one that does what it says. Usually, we take a break when the sweet shop starts cooking because the smell is too good to ignore. It’s a simple life and it keeps us busy.
