Jai Teak Traders

The wood piles up here at No. 156 in Zone 2. We spend the whole day at the shop in MP Nagar. It is not a very tidy place because teak creates a lot of shavings and dust whenever we move it around. My shirt is usually covered in sawdust by noon. We have all kinds of people coming in to look at the planks. Some want them for furniture and some just want to see what we have in the back. The location is good because it is easy to find, right there in Zone 2. We don’t have a big fancy office. There is a small desk where we keep the receipts and a couple of chairs for when someone wants to sit and talk about a big order. The air always smells like fresh cut timber. We have been working out of this spot for years now. The traffic outside can get pretty loud, but inside we just focus on the wood. It is heavy work. Lifting the logs takes a few of us. We don’t really do much else besides manage the teak inventory and make sure the deliveries go out on time. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to move things, but we manage. People know us as the place to go when they need something solid. We just keep the doors open and do the work that needs doing every day without making a big fuss about it. There is always a lot of cleaning up to do at the end of the shift.
