We are located over in Shahpura, Bhopal, at MIG MX-40 in the E-7 Extension. It’s a residential area, so it’s pretty quiet compared to the main city markets. Modi Agritrade And Foods Private Limited started because we saw how much food stuff gets moved around Madhya Pradesh and figured we could handle some of that work ourselves. The office is basically a converted part of the house. We have a couple of desks and a lot of files stacked up in the corner. It’s mostly family and a few helpers running things. Bhopal gets really hot in the summer, so we usually start early and take a long break in the afternoon when the sun is at its worst. We deal with a lot of different food items and trading. It’s mostly about keeping track of who needs what and where the trucks are. Sometimes the internet is slow, and we just have to wait it out. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably find us drinking tea and looking over spreadsheets. It’s a practical business. We focus on the day-to-day stuff like logistics and making sure the quality of the food is okay. It’s not glamorous, but it keeps us busy. We like being in Shahpura because it feels like a real neighborhood, and we’re close enough to the main hubs of the city.
