M S. Sonu Boot House

We are located on Hamidia Road, not too far from Hotel Shivalik Gold. It’s a busy part of the street, so there’s always something going on outside the door. We’ve been running this boot house for quite some time now. Inside, the smell of leather and rubber is pretty strong, but you get used to it after five minutes. We have rows and rows of boots and shoes stacked up. It’s not always perfectly organized, and sometimes we have to dig through a few stacks to find the right size for someone. The lighting is a bit yellow, making the shop feel a bit older than it probably is. We don't spend money on fancy decorations; we just focus on having enough stock on the shelves. Most of our customers are folks who work around here or travelers staying at the nearby hotels who realized they needed better shoes. We handle everything ourselves, from unloading the deliveries to sweeping the front step. Sometimes the door sticks a bit when it's raining, but we know the trick to opening it. It's a lot of long hours, especially during the wedding season when people want something a bit shinier. We just stay here and help whoever walks in. It’s a straightforward business, no frills, just plenty of shoes to choose from. It gets tiring on the feet, but seeing someone walk out with a good fit makes the day go by a bit faster.
