Lucky Fancy & General Store

Our place is in T T Nagar, right in the middle of New Market which stays busy almost every day of the week. At Lucky Fancy & General Store, we have a bit of everything, from small clips and ribbons to the daily stuff people need for their homes. The address is 78/168, and it’s a spot we’ve been in for a long time. It’s always a bit crowded with boxes because we keep getting new things in. Bhopal summers can be tough, so the fan is always running behind the counter. People come to New Market for all sorts of shopping, and they often drop by here for the smaller items they can't find in the bigger showrooms. We don't really have a big staff or anything, just us making sure things are where they belong. Sometimes the customers have to wait a bit if we are looking for a specific item in the back. It’s a lot of climbing ladders and reaching for top shelves. The floor gets dusty because of all the foot traffic from the street, so sweeping is a constant job. We don’t use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is just remembered or written down. It’s a practical way of doing things that has worked for us. We just focus on the day-to-day work and making sure the shop stays stocked up. It's just a regular shop in T T Nagar and we stay here until late.
