We deal with all sorts of spices and different flavorings for food. The building is an old one, but it does the job for what we need. We have a lot of bags stacked up against the walls. The scent of coriander and cardamom is pretty much soaked into the wood of the doors by now. It’s a busy place, especially when the farmers bring in their loads. We have a few scales that we’re constantly checking to make sure they’re accurate. Most of the staff has been here since we opened. We aren’t looking to be the biggest company out there. We just want to get the spices right. The paperwork usually piles up on the small table we use as a desk. We take breaks under the big tree out front when it gets too hot inside. It’s a practical sort of life. We don’t have a lot of rules, just that the work needs to get done. If a shipment is late, we just wait. There’s no point in stressing too much about things you can’t control. We’re just local people doing what we know best.
