Our workshop and office are located at House Number 35 in the Hazarat Nizamuddin area of Bhopal. It is a residential neighborhood in the Huzur part of the city, so it feels very much like a local operation. When you walk inside, the first thing you notice is the smell of the leather. We have rolls of it stacked up against the walls and various tools lying around on the workbenches. It is a bit messy sometimes, with scraps on the floor and half-finished projects sitting out. We focus on making things that last, using the space we have in this house. The street outside can be quite noisy with kids playing and people going about their business, but we just shut the door and get to work. Most of our day is spent cutting, stitching, and making sure the pieces look right before they are sent out. We aren't a big factory with assembly lines; it’s more about the hands-on work we do every day. We've been at this address for a while and have gotten to know the rhythms of the neighborhood. Sometimes we sit out front for a break when the weather is nice. We don't have a showroom with glass cases, just our stock stored in back rooms. It is a practical way to run a business, keeping our overhead low and staying close to home. Working in Madhya Pradesh gives us a central spot to ship from, even if we are just a small setup.
