Kgn General Store

You can find our little shop right near the Pakri Masjid at Pakri Chowk. We are situated inside Alam Lodge, which is part of the Alamgir Udyog area here in Arrah. It is a local spot where people from the nearby houses stop by when they need something for their kitchen or home. We have all kinds of goods packed onto the shelves, from small snacks to bigger household items. It gets really crowded in the evenings when everybody is heading home from work. The area around the masjid is usually full of life and noise. We try to keep everything in stock, but there are days when the delivery truck shows up late and we run out of things. My family helps out behind the counter when the line gets too long. We see the same faces every single day, which makes the work feel a bit more personal. Sometimes we just sit outside on a small stool when it is quiet and watch the cars go by. The dust from the road always finds its way inside, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the counters. It is not a big supermarket with bright lights, just a simple general store for the folks living here in Bhojpur district. We know the kids who come in for chocolate after school. The morning hours are usually for the older people buying bread and milk. It is a decent place to work.
