If you head down to Halu Bazar and look for Loharo Ki Gali, that is where you will find Shivam Agency. It is one of those narrow lanes where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We have been operating out of this spot for a long time now. The street is always full of noise from the shops and people moving goods back and forth on carts. It’s an old part of town and the buildings are packed together tight. We handle a lot of different products and act as the middleman for a few different lines of work. Most mornings start with us opening the heavy shutters and sweeping out the dust from the street. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting crates and checking lists under a dim light. We don’t have a fancy website or a big marketing team. It’s just us and the ledger books. Sometimes the deliveries are late because the trucks can’t get through the narrow parts of Loharo Ki Gali, so we have to go out and meet them. It gets hot in the summer and the fans just move the warm air around, but we are used to it. People in Halu Bazar are hard workers and we try to keep up with that pace. We just focus on getting the items to the shops that need them and making sure the counts are right at the end of the day. It is just simple trading.
