Sai Departmental

Sai Departmental is located at Shastri Nagar D-42, which is a pretty quiet residential area compared to the main city markets. We started this shop to serve the people living right around here so they wouldn’t have to travel too far for their daily needs. The shelves are packed tight with everything from soap and lentils to biscuits and school notebooks. It is a tight squeeze sometimes when two people are trying to walk down the same narrow aisle at once. We know most of our customers by their names because they come in almost every single day for a loaf of bread or some milk. It is a very local neighborhood vibe. The front counter is where everything happens—we do the billing, answer the phone, and keep an eye on the street outside. Sometimes kids come in with a few coins for some candy, and we have to wait patiently while they decide exactly what they want. It is those little moments that make the long day go by faster. The shop stays open until late in the evening because there is always someone who forgot to buy sugar or tea leaves for the next morning. We don't wear any fancy uniforms; we just wear our regular clothes and get on with the stocking and cleaning. The lighting is just simple fluorescent tubes, and we have a small radio that plays songs in the background. It is just a neighborhood store trying to be useful.
