Mool Chand Harish Kumar

We operate out of Shop No P-62 in Bhamashah Mandi, over in Rampura. It’s a wholesale environment, so things are always moving quickly. Mool Chand Harish Kumar is the name on the board outside. We deal with grains and pulses mostly. The mandi is a loud, crowded place, especially in the early morning hours when the auctions are happening. Our shop is packed with sacks piled high up to the ceiling. There isn't much room to walk around once the day gets going. My brother and I handle the trading, and we have a couple of laborers who help with the heavy lifting. It’s a lot of shouting and haggling over prices, which is just how things go in Rampura. We don't have air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that wobbles a bit. The floor is usually covered in a bit of dust from the bags. We’ve been in this same spot, P-62, for over twenty years now. We’ve seen the market grow and change, but the way we do business stays pretty much the same. We write everything down in big red books. It’s not a polished corporate office. It’s a working shop in the middle of a busy market. If you come by, you’ll probably find us drinking tea and talking to the farmers. That’s just the way it is here at the mandi.
