Mohan General Store

Mohan General Store is right there on the busy stretch where Station Road meets Murli Vilas Road. Being so close to the railway station means there is always someone in a hurry coming through the door. We see a lot of travelers looking for a quick bottle of water, some biscuits, or maybe a bar of soap they forgot to pack. It’s a fast-paced spot. The shelves are packed tight with all sorts of stuff—everything from washing powder to notebooks and snacks. Because the space is small, we’ve had to stack things pretty high, so sometimes we have to use a little stool to reach the top shelf. It’s dusty because of all the rickshaws and buses passing by outside, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the counters. We’ve been at this location for a long time, and we’ve seen the station area change quite a bit. Despite the noise and the constant movement, we like it here. You meet people from all over who are just passing through for a day or two. Then you have the locals who live behind the main road and come in for their daily milk and bread. We don't have fancy scanners or a big staff. It’s just us behind the wooden counter, making change and bagging up items as fast as we can. It’s a bit chaotic at times, but that’s just how life is near the station.
