Madhur General Store

Madhur General Store is tucked away in Ward No. 25 of the New Housing Board Colony. We are right on the Bypass Road, which makes it easy for people driving past to stop in for a minute. We carry all the usual stuff you’d expect to find in a neighborhood shop—soaps, snacks, grains, and basic household items. The shelves are usually packed pretty tight because we try to keep a bit of everything in stock. It’s not a supermarket with wide aisles; it is more of a local spot where you might have to squeeze past a crate of soda to get what you need. My family helps out behind the counter, especially during the evening rush when people are coming home from work. We know most of the families in the colony, and we’ve seen their kids grow up over the years. We don't do any big promotions or sales events. People just know we are here if they run out of milk or sugar. Sometimes we run out of something, and we have to wait for the distributor’s truck to show up the next day. It’s a busy life, but we like being part of the community here. The bypass road keeps things moving, and there’s always something happening outside our door. We just try to keep the lights on and the bread fresh every day of the week for the folks living nearby.
