Inani Chemicals

Inani Chemicals is situated out on Pur Road, right by the Kamla Ka Kua area. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city center, so it’s usually quieter here except for the trucks passing by on their way to the highway. The ground is a bit uneven around our building, so you have to be careful where you park your bike. We have a large storage area because the stuff we handle takes up a lot of room. It gets pretty hot under the tin roof during the summer, so we try to get most of the heavy work done before the sun gets too high in the sky. I usually spend my time sitting at a small wooden desk near the entrance so I can see who is coming and going. There’s a lot of paperwork involved in what we do, and sometimes it feels like the piles never get any smaller. We have a few workers who have been with us for years, and we mostly just talk about local news or what's happening in our families. The water here comes from a borewell and it’s always nice and cold. We don't have a fancy showroom or any of that. It is a working site where things get moved, loaded, and unloaded all day long. We keep our boots by the door because of the mud during the monsoon season. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living.
