Ankit Hair Drasser

People usually find us here in Gulabpura when they need a haircut or just a quick shave before work starts. It’s not a very big place, just a couple of chairs and some mirrors on the wall that have been there for years now. We open up early in the morning, usually around the time the tea stall next door starts boiling their first pot. You can hear the scissors snipping all day long and the sound of the radio playing in the corner, though sometimes the signal is bad. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so there is a lot of sweeping to do between customers. Most of the guys who come in are from around the neighborhood, so we end up talking about the weather or whatever is happening in the local market. It’s just how things go here. We have some old posters on the walls showing different styles, but most people just ask for the same thing every time they sit down. The chair squeaks a little when you turn it, but it still works fine. In the afternoons, it gets a bit quiet when the sun is high, and then it picks up again in the evening. There isn't much to it, really. Just a regular shop where you can get your hair sorted out without any fuss. We keep the towels clean and make sure the water is ready. It’s steady work and keeps us busy enough throughout the week.
