Jamul Cement Works,Acc Ltd.

We’ve been out here in Bhilai for a good while now. The Jamul Cement Works is a big part of the landscape around Chhattisgarh. Most days start early before the sun gets too high because it really heats up in this part of India. You can see the dust on the leaves of the trees along the road leading up to the gate. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of the machines and trucks moving back and forth. We spend a lot of time checking the bags and making sure the loaders are on schedule. It’s not fancy work, but it keeps everyone busy. The staff usually brings their own lunch and we sit under the shade when we get a break. Sometimes the power goes out and everything gets quiet for a bit, which is a nice change. The office is over in the 490 026 area code. We’ve seen the town change over the years as more buildings go up. It’s a lot of physical labor and getting your hands dirty. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. Just a desk, some chairs, and the paperwork piled up from the day's shipments. People from the nearby villages work here, and we all know each other's families by now. It’s just how things are run in this corner of Bhilai. We keep the machines running and hope the rain doesn't slow down the transport.
