National Engeeniaring Works

National Engeeniaring Works is located at Plot 301/23 in Gidc. We are right across the road from Nani Khodiar, which is a busy little corner of the industrial estate. Our shop is mostly filled with welding equipment and various metal-cutting tools. We do a lot of fabrication work, so there are always sparks flying somewhere in the back. The building itself has seen better days, but it keeps the rain off the machines, and that is what matters. We have a small team of guys who have been doing this kind of work since they were teenagers. There is no corporate manual here; we just know how the metal should look when it’s finished. Sometimes we are working on big frames for construction, and other times it’s just small brackets. The floor is concrete and usually pretty cold in the mornings, but it warms up fast once the torches are lit. We keep a pot of tea going most of the day because the work is tiring. We don't really have a front desk or a secretary. If you need something, you just walk in and talk to whoever isn't wearing a welding mask at the moment. It’s just a straightforward engineering shop where we try to get things right the first time. We’ve been at this plot for a long time now and know most of the people on this street. It is just basic, honest metalwork.
