Raj Ice Cream

We are located at Haveli Chowk on Paliyad Road in Botad. It’s a very busy spot because we’re so close to the Bus Station Chowk. You can hear the conductors shouting and the horns honking all day long. People are always in a rush here, trying to grab something cold before their bus leaves. We see a lot of tired travelers with heavy bags sitting on our stools for ten minutes just to catch their breath. The shop is small and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to do it. My hands are usually cold from digging into the tubs all day. We have to be quick because no one wants to miss their ride. The evening time is when the local families come out to Haveli Chowk just to walk around. That’s when we really have to move fast. I’ve lived in Botad all my life, and this shop is just where I end up every single day. We keep the napkins stocked and the spoons ready. The floor gets tracked with mud when it rains, and we’re always chasing it with a broom. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. By the time we shut the front gate, the bus station is finally starting to quiet down for the night. We are glad for the work and to see the same faces every day. Raj Ice Cream has been at this chowk through many seasons now.
