We are located in Lokhand Bazaar, directly opposite the Punjab and Sind Bank. Having the bank right there makes it very easy to explain where we are to anyone who hasn't visited Murtuza Exports before. The bazaar is a hectic place, always full of people and the sound of iron clanging. It’s a real working-class area and we’ve been part of it for a long time. Our office is small and functional. We have a big window that looks out onto the street, so we can see the queues at the bank and the trucks trying to navigate the narrow road. It’s never quiet here. There’s always someone shouting or a horn honking. We handle all our export business from this desk. It’s mostly just keeping track of shipments and making sure the buyers are happy. We don’t have any fancy titles or a big board of directors. It’s just us doing the work and making sure the bills get paid on time. The dust from the market gets into everything, so we are always wiping down the desks. Most of the day is spent on the phone or talking to the laborers outside. It’s a simple life, but we like the energy of the bazaar. We’ve got a good relationship with the bank staff across the road and the other shopkeepers nearby. It feels like a small village in the middle of a big city.
