Our place, Madhu Silica Pvt. Ltd., stretches across Plot No. 53, 55, and 56/b in the Chitra Gidc. It’s a fairly large space, but it always seems to feel small because of how much is going on. There’s a lot of movement throughout the day. You’ll see trucks coming in and out, and the workers are always moving bags or checking on the equipment. The ground is often covered in a fine layer of white dust, which is just something we’ve accepted as part of the job. We have a small tea stall just outside the main gate where we all gather around eleven o'clock. It’s the best part of the morning. We’ve been operating out of Chitra Gidc for quite some time now. The buildings are sturdy but they’ve seen better days. We spend a lot of time on maintenance because things tend to break down when you use them every day. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s steady. We don't have fancy meetings in boardrooms. Most of our decisions are made standing up in the middle of the warehouse or while walking from one plot to the other. It’s a simple way of working. We just focus on the tasks in front of us and try to make sure everyone stays safe and the work gets finished. It's just a bunch of regular folks doing what they know.
