Our place is at Plot No. 1 in Shanti Nagar, which is in the Kaliyabid area. If you’re looking for us, we are right near the Bank of Baroda ATM and Shreeji Hall. It’s a good spot because everyone knows those landmarks, so we never have to give long directions. We work with beverages, so there are always crates and bottles being moved around. The sound of glass clinking is pretty much the soundtrack to our day. Shanti Nagar is a busy neighborhood, and there is always something happening outside our doors. The ATM next door brings a lot of foot traffic past our plot. We’ve been here long enough that we know the local tea stall guy and the regulars who walk by. The workspace is functional. We have some desks for the paperwork and plenty of room for the stock. It gets quite humid here, so we keep the fans going all day long. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big sign with lights. It’s just a straightforward operation. We focus on getting the drinks loaded onto the trucks and sent out to the shops. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic near the hall, but we manage. It’s a busy life, but we like being right in the middle of Kaliyabid. It feels like we are part of the daily bustle of the city, just doing our thing.
