We’ve been at Plot No. 99 Shed I-2 in Chitra GIDC for a long time now. Asian Polymer'S is basically just us working with plastics every day. It’s a busy spot. The shed gets a bit hot in the summer but we keep the machines going regardless of the temperature. People sometimes struggle to find the exact shed because Chitra is huge, but once you see our sign, you know you’re there. Most days start early with a cup of tea and then it’s just noise and production until the evening. We don't really do the whole fancy office thing. It’s mostly just the workshop floor and some storage space for the raw materials. I usually spend half my time checking the settings on the extruders and the other half talking to the guys about the schedule. Sometimes the power goes out in the GIDC and we just have to sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It’s part of the life here. We make what people ask for and try to get it out the door on time. There’s always sawdust or plastic bits on the floor, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just how it is when you’re actually making things. We’ve seen a lot of neighbors come and go in this part of the estate, but we’re still here at Plot 99. It’s not a glamorous job but it’s what we know. We just focus on the work right in front of us.
