R Prashant Plastic Industries is located down in Kumbharwada. If you walk through the area, you’ll hear the machines running most of the time. We make various plastic items, and it’s the kind of work that keeps your hands busy from morning until evening. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at, just a place where we get things done. We have a few machines that we’ve learned to fix ourselves when they get cranky. There’s always the smell of raw materials in the air and stacks of finished products waiting to be moved out. We started this because we knew there was a need for local plastic goods, and we’ve stayed because we like the rhythm of production. It’s not always smooth; sometimes a batch doesn't come out right or a delivery is late, but we just deal with it. We have a small crew of people who know their way around the molds and the heat settings. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. People in the neighborhood know where we are if they need something made. We just try to keep the quality decent and the prices fair so everyone can keep going. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a pile of raw pellets turn into something useful by the end of the day.
