If you are looking for Shashmi Foundation, you will find us right across from Lions School in the Gidc New Colony area. We are at Plot No. 405/1. It is a pretty straightforward place to find if you know Ankleshwar-Bharuch at all. The school is a big landmark, so we just tell people to look for that. We’ve been set up here for a bit, doing our thing day in and day out. It’s mostly just a few of us handling the daily tasks that come with running a foundation. The neighborhood is mostly workers and families, being in the GIDC area, so there is always a bit of movement. We don’t have any big signs or flashy lights out front. It’s just an office where we keep the records and meet people who need our help. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty with all the construction and industrial activity nearby, but that is just how it is in this part of town. We try to keep things organized, though papers do tend to pile up when we get busy. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just basic work that needs to be done. Most of our day is spent on the phone or talking to locals who stop in to ask questions. It’s a practical space. We like being close to the school because it keeps the area feeling alive. That is basically who we are, just a local group working out of a small spot in Ankleshwar for the community around us.
