Our site is at Plot No. 114 in the Dahej Industrial Estate, located in Lakhigam. It’s a big area and there’s always a lot of activity going on around here. Adani Petronet Pvt. Ltd. is involved in the port and terminal side of things, so we deal with a lot of heavy lifting and moving stuff around. The wind blows quite a bit coming off the water, and you can always smell the sea salt in the air. It’s a large facility, so we spend a lot of time walking between the different sections. We have a lot of trucks and tankers moving through the gates every hour. The office is a bit more functional than comfortable, with metal desks and maps pinned to the walls. We have to wear safety gear all the time, so you'll mostly see us in boots and hard hats. It’s a serious environment because of the scale of the work we do. There’s a lot of paperwork to keep track of all the shipments coming in and going out. We have a canteen where everyone gathers for meals, which is probably the liveliest part of the day. The industrial estate in Dahej is massive, and we’re just one part of the bigger picture there. We keep the equipment maintained and the schedules on track as much as we can. It’s a long day for most of us, but the work is steady and the port never really sleeps much during the week.
