Kumar Shala

Kumar Shala is a small school in Kavi, which is a quiet part of the Bharuch district. Being near the coast, the air is a bit different here. The school itself is quite old and has that classic look of a village school. We don’t have many rooms, just enough for the local kids to come and learn their basics. The 392170 area is mostly families who have been here for generations. In the morning, you can see the children walking through the dusty lanes to get to the gate. We have a small courtyard where they play during the break, though it’s mostly just hard ground. The teachers here are local people who know everyone’s parents and grandparents. It makes for a very close-knit feeling. There aren't any fancy computers or labs here. We use the same old wooden desks and green boards. Sometimes we have to fix a leak in the roof or repaint a door, but that’s just part of keeping an old building going. Life moves a bit slower in Kavi compared to Bharuch city. We take our time with the lessons and make sure the kids understand what they’re reading. It’s a humble place, but it serves the village well. We’re just here every day, opening the doors and making sure there’s a place for the kids to study.
