About Indian Cofee Workers Co Op Society Ltd – Food & Beverages in Bharuch
Our place is situated right inside the NTPC Township at Urjanagar. It’s a bit of a distance from the main Bharuch city, specifically in the Jhanor area. We operate as a cooperative, so things are run a bit differently here than in a private cafe or a standard restaurant. Most of our customers are the workers and staff from the power plant who come in during their breaks for a quick drink or a bite to eat. We serve a lot of coffee, obviously, and simple meals that keep people going through their long shifts. The atmosphere is very plain and functional, not like those modern cafes with fancy lights. We have long wooden tables and the smell of roasted beans is always in the air. Because we are in the township, we see the same people every day, and we know exactly how they like their drink without them even asking. The paperwork for the society takes up some time in the mornings, as we have to keep everything accounted for for the board. It’s a steady pace of work. We get our supplies delivered from the main town, and sometimes the truck is late because of the road conditions, which causes a bit of a headache in the kitchen. But generally, it’s a quiet life out here near the plant. We follow the rules of the cooperative and make sure the kitchen stays running for the evening crowd. It’s an old-school way of doing things, and we’ve been here for quite some time.
