Our branch of Glenmarkgenerics Ltd is right in the heart of the Ankleshwar industrial area, in the Bharuch district of Gujarat. It’s dusty and hot for most of the year, so we rely heavily on the air conditioning to stay productive. Inside, it’s all about the work. We deal with the logistics and the production schedules for the generics. There are no fancy decorations on the walls, just some calendars and safety notices. We eat our lunch together at a big wooden table in the back room. Most of us come from Bharuch or the local Ankleshwar townships, so we’ve known each other for a long time. The work is repetitive sometimes, but it’s important for keeping the supply lines open. We don't use big words or have long meetings. We just talk about what needs to be shipped and which batches are ready. Outside, the roads are often bumpy from all the heavy vehicles, but that’s just life in a Gujarat industrial hub.
