Working out of GIDC at plots 124 and 125 has its ups and downs. The roads around here can get pretty dusty when the trucks go by, but this is where the work is. My name is on the door, but it is a team effort to keep everything moving. We do not have a big corporate office with air conditioning in every room. Usually, it is just the fan spinning overhead and the sound of whatever is happening in the shed next door. I have been here for a long time, and I have seen many businesses come and go in this industrial area. We handle the daily stuff ourselves, from checking the inventory to talking to the drivers who come in to pick things up. There is no fancy mission statement on the wall, just a calendar and some notes about what needs to be shipped out by Friday. Sometimes the phone rings all morning and other days it is quiet enough to hear the birds outside. It is honest work and we do not try to pretend to be something we are not. People know where to find us if they need something. The gate is usually open from eight in the morning until the sun goes down. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay on top of the paperwork, which always seems to pile up faster than we can clear it.
