Sahil Marble & Tiles

Our place, Sahil Marble & Tiles, sits at No.24 on Khutrud Road. We are quite easy to find because we are near the Axis Bank branch in Khutaha. The road out front gets quite a lot of activity during the day. It’s a decent spot for a business like ours because people are always coming and going from the bank. We spend most of our mornings moving the tile displays around and making sure the marble slabs are sitting right so they don't tip. It is a bit of a struggle sometimes because the floor isn't perfectly even. We aren't doing anything special, just opening up every morning and closing up late. We have a small desk where we do all the paperwork, but mostly we are on our feet. The air in Khutaha can get a bit humid, which makes moving heavy stone even more tiring. We usually take turns going for lunch so someone is always at the counter. We see the same faces every day, which is nice. It makes the neighborhood feel small even though the road is busy. Sometimes we have to wait a long time for deliveries to arrive because of the traffic on Khutrud Road. We just deal with things as they come. It’s a simple way to spend the day, working with stone and talking to the folks who live nearby. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us making sure everything runs okay.
