Kolika Weavers Collective Private Limited is located in Puraini, Bhagalpur. We operate out of Mahmud Ansari’s place in Khajanagar, which is part of the Dakshinipanchayat. The pin code is 812005. Being in Bhagalpur, weavers are everywhere, but we have our own little collective going on here. It is a group effort. We aren't a big corporation with lots of rules. We just work together to get things done. Khajanagar is a place where people know each other, so there is a lot of trust. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on the quality of what we make. The workspace is a bit cramped sometimes with all the materials lying around, but we make it work. It is a real place with real people. Sometimes the machines are loud and the dust gets everywhere, but that is just part of the weaving life. We started this collective to give local weavers a place to come together. It has been a slow process, but we are happy with where we are. We don't use big words to describe ourselves. We are just weavers from Puraini. We have our tea breaks together and talk about the weather or the local news. It is a simple, good life here in the 812005 area of Bihar. We hope to stay here for many more years as things change around us.
