My family runs this shop in Athanair village. We are right on the main Betul Road. It’s a bit of a funny place because one side of the shop has bags of flour and spices, and the other side has bags of cement and hardware stuff. People in this part of Betul need both, so we decided to keep everything in one spot to help them out. It’s very convenient because the HP petrol pump is just a few steps away, so farmers and truck drivers stop here all the time. The Taluka of Bhainsdehi is where we grew up, and we know almost everyone who comes through the door. It’s usually loud with people talking and the sound of heavy trucks passing by outside. We spend our days loading sand into trailers or weighing out bags of dal for the local families. It gets very busy in the mornings when everyone is heading out. Sometimes it’s hard to keep track of all the inventory in the back, but we manage somehow. We don’t have a computer or any fancy system, just some old notebooks where we write everything down. It’s honest work and we like being part of the village life. If you are heading towards Betul, you will see our sign right near the petrol pump. We don't have any fancy displays or lights. Just items stacked up where people can see them. We’ve been here for many years.
