Krishna Brick Industry

Krishna Brick Industry is located in Ramari Nagar, which falls under the Berhampur Taluka in Ganjam District. We have been here for years, and the landscape hasn't changed much in all that time. Our work revolves around the seasons. We start the brick-making process as soon as the winter sets in and the ground dries up. It is a lot of hard work out in the sun, and the workers here are very used to the long hours. Ganjam has its own rhythm, and we try to stick to it. We have a few simple sheds for storing the finished bricks so they don't get damaged. The office is just a small room with a fan and some old chairs. We don't really do any advertising. People just know we are here in Ramari Nagar. Most of our customers are locals who are doing small repairs or building their own homes. We talk a lot over tea while we figure out the orders. Sometimes the clay isn't just right, and we have to spend extra time mixing it. It’s a manual process through and through. We don't have any fancy trucks, just a few old ones that get the job done. The work is dirty and we go home covered in mud every evening. But it is honest work and it keeps the community building. We don't ask for much more than that in our daily lives out here in the district.
