Gita Fly Ash Bricks

Down here in Ganjam, near the Tahasil Office in Chikiti village, is where we have our brick setup. We focus on fly ash bricks because that's what people seem to be asking for lately. It's a bit different from the red bricks you see everywhere else. My father started working with materials years ago, and I just kind of took over the daily stuff. The yard is right in the village, so it’s easy to find. We have a few machines running, and it gets pretty loud during the day. Most of the time, I'm just checking the piles and making sure we have enough stock for the local contractors. It's not glamorous work, but it keeps us busy. We see a lot of people from the district coming by to check the quality. I try to be honest about how many we can make in a week. Sometimes we run behind if a machine breaks down, which happens more often than I’d like. We don't do much advertising. People just hear about us through word of mouth in the market. The location near the government office helps people locate us easily. We just focus on making the bricks and getting them loaded onto the trolleys. It’s hard work, but seeing houses go up in the village using our bricks feels alright. We try to keep things moving even when the weather gets hot.
