About Working As Lecturer In College – Education in Bengaluru
I am working as a lecturer in a college here in Bangalore. Most of my time is spent in the classroom or in the staff room grading papers. I live in the Vijayanagar area, which is a pretty well-known part of town. Bangalore has changed so much lately, but Vijayanagar still feels like home to me. Being a lecturer isn't always easy. The students can be a handful and sometimes they don't seem very interested in the lessons. I try to make it clear for them, but some subjects are just dry. I’ve been doing this for a few years. My commute isn't too bad, but the Bangalore traffic is always a mess no matter where you are going. I usually take a bus or a rickshaw to the college. When I get home, I'm usually pretty tired from talking all day. I have to prepare my notes for the next morning. Sometimes I wonder if they are actually learning anything, but then one or two students will ask a good question and it feels okay. The college is okay, nothing fancy, just a regular building with lots of stairs. I spend my weekends just resting and catching up on chores. It’s a simple routine and I’m used to it by now. There is always a lot of noise in the city, but you get used to it after a while. That's just how it goes here.
