Wockartt Hospital

You can find Wockartt Hospital right on Dr. Anand Rao Nair Road. It's a busy part of Mumbai Central, very close to the station. Being located at 1877, we are right in the thick of things. The road outside is always full of taxis and people moving about. Sometimes the noise from the street drifts in, but mostly we are focused on the patients inside. It is a large building and it takes some time to learn where everything is. We have people coming in from all over the city and even from outside Mumbai. They arrive tired from the trains and we try to get them sorted out quickly. The lobby area stays packed most of the day. There’s a specific smell of medicine and cleaning supplies that you just get used to after a while. Our desks are covered in files and the phones don't seem to stop ringing for long. It’s not a fancy place, just a hospital where we do our daily tasks. We see some tough situations, but we also see people getting better, which is nice. The shifts can be long and the coffee in the breakroom isn't the best, but it keeps us going. Most of us have been working here for years. We know the shortcuts through the hallways and which windows get the most sun in the afternoon. It’s just a normal part of life for us here at Mumbai Central, dealing with whatever comes through the doors.
