Being across from the church means we see a lot of life every day. There are weddings, funerals, and people just coming to pray. We handle the flowers for all of it. Our shop is usually full of buckets of water and piles of stems on the floor. It’s a bit messy, but that’s how it goes when you’re working with fresh plants. The smell of jasmine is really strong in the mornings when the new stock arrives. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s just a small space where we sit and tie garlands or fix bouquets. Sometimes my fingers get stained from the petals or poked by thorns, but you get used to that after a week. We don't use any high-end design software. We just look at the flowers and see what looks good together. Most of our customers are locals from the Viveknagar area who have been coming to us for years. We know their names and what they usually like. It’s a busy job, especially during the festival seasons when everyone wants something special. We try to keep our prices fair and just do honest work. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s a colorful one for sure.
