Vishnu Forge Industries Ltd

Down at the HMT Industrial Estate, things feel a lot different than the rest of the city. Vishnu Forge Industries is located at C1 and C2, right by the Silver Jubilee Park Road area near the HMT Post. It’s a place where things actually get made. You can hear the heavy machinery and the sound of metal being worked on from quite a distance away. The air smells like oil and iron, and everyone wears sturdy boots because the floor is always a bit grimy. Our day starts early because the heat from the forge gets to be too much if we wait until noon. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the forged parts and making sure the machines are oiled. It’s a tough environment, but there is a sense of satisfaction in seeing raw materials turn into finished industrial parts. We have a small office section that is partitioned off from the main workshop, but the noise still gets in. We mostly drink tea from steel tumblers and talk about the production schedule for the week. The commute out to this part of the industrial estate can be a long one, but once you’re here, the focus is just on the work at hand. We don't have fancy brochures or a glossy lobby, just the sound of hammers and the smell of hot metal. It is hard work but we are used to it.
