We are located in Village Hcross, which is part of the Hosakote Taluk in Chikbalapur district. It is a quiet area mostly, surrounded by fields and a few other houses. Our school is a place for the local children from the surrounding villages to come and get an education. The building is simple and we try to keep it as clean as possible, though the wind often blows dust in through the windows. We have a small playground area where the kids spend their breaks running around. There aren't many of us working here, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from teaching classes to fixing the roof when it leaks during the rainy season. Life in the village is different from the city, and our school reflects that. We don't have much in the way of expensive technology, but we have books and teachers who care about the students. Sometimes the cows from the nearby farms wander too close to the gate, which gives the kids a laugh. We see the same faces every day and have watched many of these children grow up over the years. It is a humble place, but it serves the community here in Hcross. We just try to provide a steady environment where the kids can focus on their books without too much distraction. It's a long commute for some of us, but we've become part of the landscape here.
