Varun Driving School

Running a driving school on Bull Temple Road means dealing with a lot of traffic every single day. We are based out of number 14 near Banswadi Road. Most of our day is spent in the passenger seat with someone who is usually pretty terrified behind the steering wheel. It’s a lot of telling people to watch their mirrors and reminding them to use the clutch properly so the engine doesn't stall in the middle of a busy junction. The cars we use are out on the road from morning until the sun goes down. We see all kinds of learners, from teenagers getting their first license to older people who finally decided they need to know how to drive. The roads around here can be tricky, especially near the temple where it gets crowded, so it’s good practice for anyone starting out. We don’t have a big office or anything, just our cars and a place to handle the paperwork near Banswadi Road. It’s steady work. We spend a lot of time talking through the rules of the road and making sure people understand how to handle the car in tight spots. Sometimes the gear shifts are crunchy and the brakes get a workout, but that’s just how it goes when you’re teaching. We focus on getting people comfortable enough to pass their tests and handle the city traffic without panicking too much when a bus gets close.
